Special Pay Increases (SPI’s) may only be requested for increased responsibilities, market equity, or bona fide counteroffers. Lorie will approve the SPI via email, your DOHR Generalist will process the SPI.

If SPI is due to increased responsibilities, send SPI request form and electronic copy of position description with track changes in place to Lorie for review.
If SPI is due to market equity, send SPI request form  and supporting documentation OR if SPI is due to bona fide counteroffer, send verification of competing offer, to Lorie for review.
DOHR will provide a salary survey as additional supporting documentation
SPI’s for increased responsibilities require two ePAF transactions. At the time departments submit the SPI request form and the updated position description with track changes included to DOHR, they should simultaneously complete a Position Update (UPD) ePAF in myUFL, uploading the updated position description, and noting the proposed SPI in the ePAF comments section.
Once the Position Update ePAF has been approved, the department will enter a second ePAF (Job Edit), noting the proposed pay-rate change.  The effective date will be adjusted by Classification and Compensation (C&C), provided the SPI request is approved, to correspond with the date the VP of HR approves the SPI.
SPI requests for market equity and counteroffers do not require a position action; therefore, only one ePAF (Job Edit) is needed, noting the proposed pay-rate change.  The effective date will be adjusted by C&C, provided the SPI request is approved, to correspond with the date the VP of HR approves the SPI.
